hello everyone, time for my review of ballistic from da whitty mod. if you dont know what whitty is, he's an original friday night funkin character made by "KadeDev". he stars in his titular mod and gained a lot of noteriety back in the early days of friday night funkin modding. his mod contains 3 songs, lofight, overhead and the song we'll be reviewing today, ballistic. before we begin though id like to state that only 30 percent of people who watch my content are subscribed, so please leave a sub to support the channel. lets start with the positives. firstly i do like the instrumentation of the song, i think the drums, bass and vocals do a pretty good job and fit pretty well with each other. anyway thats the end of the positives. those instruments i mentioned are basically all the song is, i wish i was joking. the drums use like 1 or 2 patterns throughout most of the song. its not even an interesting pattern. they just repeat over and over without any variation or anything interesting being done with them in any sense. the songs "melody" if you can even call it that is 2 notes basically alternating at random intervals. oh but sometimes its not 2 notes, its actually 3 notes. the only real semblence of a melody comes in midway through near the end but is immediately cut off by another issue this song has, and that is whitty's voice. whitty basically has a massively overdriven electric guitar for a voice and i really think it sounds bad. in my opinion its the only instrument of this song i think is fully dead in the water and would not work with the melody here. the guitar was chosen just to make the song sound more "full" because without it you realise how utterly empty this song is. the only other instrument i havent covered is the bass, which for most of the song is literally just 1 note. cant get more boring than that. now the remastered version does fix some of these problems by making more things go on in the track and making the bassline more interesting. its not perfect but its at least closer to sounding like a real song now. and thats my review of ballistic from da whitty mod. if you liked this song please like and subscribe and click that notification bell on your way out. im signing out and i hope you enjoy the rest of the content i have planned for this week.
